Minutes of Meeting
September 29, 2014

The Criminal Justice Commission met on Monday, September 29, 2014, at the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney in Rocky Hill for the purpose of conducting interviews for the appointment of Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney at the Office of the State’s Attorney, Judicial District of New Britain, Geographical Area (G.A.) 15; and any other business to come before the Commission.

The following members were present: The Honorable Richard N. Palmer, Chairperson, The Hon. Juliett Crawford, Attorney Maura H. Horan, Attorney Moy N. Ogilvie, Attorney Ann G. Taylor and Chief State’s Attorney Kevin T. Kane. Also present: State’s Attorney Brian W. Preleski and Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist Ngina Gibson.

The meeting, which was open to the public, commenced at 1:40 p.m. in the conference room. Attorney Horan made a motion, seconded by Attorney Ogilvie, to approve the minutes of the meeting of July 15, 2014. The motion passed unanimously.

State’s Attorney Preleski briefed the members about the position at G.A. 15. The Commission then interviewed the following attorneys: Jennifer Cooper, Sara Greene, Jennifer Dalenta Miller, Alanna Tynan and Marie-Louise Villar. After a brief recess at 3:00 p.m., the interviews resumed at 3:10 p.m.

Attorney Horan made a motion to go into executive session at 4:15 p.m. to discuss the appointment. The motion was seconded by Attorney Ogilvie and passed unanimously.

Following the executive session, the Commission resumed its public meeting at 4:35 p.m. Attorney Horan moved for the appointment of Attorney Jennifer Dalenta Miller as Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney at the Office of the State’s Attorney, Judicial District of New Britain, G.A. 15. Attorney Taylor seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:40 p.m.
