Minutes of the Meeting of June 16, 2010

The Criminal Justice Commission met on Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney in Rocky Hill for the purpose of interviewing five candidates for the appointment of Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney for the Judicial District of New Haven, G.A. No. 23, interviewing four State’s Attorneys and the Deputy Chief State’s Attorney for Administration, Personnel and Finance whose appointments end June 30, 2010, and any other business.
The following members were present: Justice Richard N. Palmer, Chairman, Attorney Maura H. Horan, Attorney Garrett M. Moore, Attorney Ann G. Taylor, Attorney Alfred A. Turco and
The meeting, which was open to the public, commenced at 9:20 a.m. A motion was made by Attorney Taylor to accept the minutes of the May 6, 2010, meeting. The motion was seconded by Attorney Turco and approved unanimously.
At approximately 9:25 a.m., the Commission then took up the vacancy of the
At approximately 11:00 a.m., Attorney Horan moved that the Commission go into executive session to discuss the appointment to the above-mentioned position. The motion was seconded by Attorney Turco and passed unanimously.
Following the executive session, the Commission resumed its public meeting at approximately 11:15 a.m. Attorney Turco moved that Attorney Laura DeLeo be appointed
The Commission then interviewed the four State’s Attorneys considered for reappointment:
At approximately 11:25 a.m., Kevin D. Lawlor, State’s Attorney of the Ansonia/Milford Judicial District, was interviewed. Attorney Horan moved for the reappointment of State’s Attorney Lawlor; Attorney Taylor seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
