Meeting Minutes
October 8, 2008

The Criminal Justice Commission met by telephone conference call on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 for the purpose of selecting a candidate for the appointment of a Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney for the Public Integrity Bureau at the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney and any other business that may come before the Commission.

The following members participated: Justice Richard N. Palmer, Chairman, Judge Thomas Bishop, Attorney Maura Horan, Attorney Garrett Moore, Attorney Ann Taylor, and Chief State’s Attorney Kevin T. Kane.

The meeting, open to the public by means of a speaker phone at the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney, commenced at approximately 9:35 a.m. No members of the public attended. A motion was made by Judge Bishop to accept the minutes of the Wednesday, October 1, 2008 meeting. The motion was seconded by Attorney Moore and was approved unanimously.

Chairman Palmer reported that Michael Pendell declined the offer of the position of Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney for the Public Integrity Bureau and all present agreed to consider the three remaining applicants.

At approximately 9:40 a.m. Attorney Horan moved that the Commission go into executive session to discuss the appointment of the Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney for the Public Integrity Bureau. The motion was seconded by Attorney Taylor and passed unanimously.

Following the executive session the Commission resumed its public meeting at approximately 9:48 a.m.

Attorney Moore moved that Attorney Juliana (Joslin) Waltersdorff be appointed Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney for the Public Integrity Bureau. The motion was seconded by Attorney Taylor and passed unanimously.

At approximately 9:50 a.m. the meeting was adjourned.
