The Article page displays the Article Title, Publish Date, Main Content, and Tagged Subcategories on the left side of the page with additional Knowledge Base Subcategrories and Related Articles on the right side.
Create a Knowledge Base Folder
The Knowledge Base Folder allows you to organize your Knowledge Base Articles.
1. Navigate to the Knowledge Base folder from Content > Agency Website > Home > Knowledge Base using the Content Tree.
2. Right-click on the Article item and choose Insert > FAQ KB Folder.
3. Enter the KB Article Folder Name and select OK.
4. Save and Publish.
Create a Knowledge Base Article
A Knowledge Base Article provides direct information and guidance to users on a specific topic. These page types are quick and easy to create in response to real-time needs, as the template simply features a Title and Open-Text area.
1. Navigate to the Knowledge Base folder from Content > Agency Website > Home > Knowledge Base using the Content Tree.
2. Right-click on the Article item and choose Insert > FAQ KB Page.
3. Enter a name for the Article in the Item Name field.
a. This Item Name will display in the URL.
b. Special characters and punctuation [!@#$%^&*(),<.>/?;:’”\] cannot be used.
4. Select OK.
Your article is now created, checked out (locked), and ready to edit.
TIP: You can create as many articles as needed.
Edit the Content Tagging Section Data
1. Navigate to the Content Tagging Section Data section to edit the Article's Publish Date, which can display on the Article page.
a. Publish Date – This date field is auto-populated when the Article is created but can be modified by selected the date drop-down item and selecting the desired date.
If the fields are cleared, then no date will display on the Article listings or Article page.
2. Scroll down to the Base Data section and modify the following fields:
b. KB Title – Enter the title of the Article. This field is pre-populated with the Article name, but can be changed to accommodate special characters or longer wording.
c. Teaser – Enter a brief description of the Article.
i. The Teaser will show up as the description on the Knowledge Base search results. However, it does not show up on the Article page.
3. Tag the Article to any Subcategories that are appropriate for the Article.
d. Tag List – Tag the Article to Subcategories by double clicking on the tags you want to add and remove from the "Selected" category.
Once an Article is tagged to a Subcategory, it will show upon that Subcategory's listing page.
5. The Article's main content is added in the KB Content field.
a. KB Content – Add and update the content for the article. This can be done through the Rich Text Editor.
b. Select the Show editor link to add the content.
c. Edit the content in the Rich Text Editor.
d. Select the Accept button to exit out of the Rich Text Editor.
6. Scroll down to the Meta Data section to modify the following fields.
a. MetaTitle – What gets displayed in the Browser tab and search results, is pre-populated with the page name
b. MetaDescription – Brief description of the page
c. MetaKeywords – List of keywords about the page, you can separate keywords using comma
7. Select the Save and Publish.
