How can I get help paying energy and electric bills?

for help:

Learn about electric and gas utility programs

2-1-1: Call from anywhere in Connecticut. Or visit 211ct.org. It's free and connects you to services. Includes help with energy bills, referrals, and crisis support.

Arrearage Forgiveness Plans: For eligible customers. Contact your utility company for more information.

Called to Active Duty? If you are called to active military duty, your utility may pause collections and shut-offs. Call your utility company to ask.

Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP): Check eligibility requirements and find your local Community Action Agency (CAA) here.

Community Action Agencies (CAA): These local offices help apply for CEAP and other benefits. Go to cafca.org to find one near you.

Discount Rates, Winter Shut-off Protection, and Arrearage Forgiveness: For income-eligible customers.
