How can I file a complaint with the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA)?

If you have a problem with a utility company, contact the company directly and give them a chance to address your issue. If your company doesn’t resolve the issue to your satisfaction, get in touch with PURA. Their staff are trained to help fix many kinds of problems between you and your utility company. The most common complaints PURA gets involve:

  • Deposits
  • High bills
  • Incorrect rates or tariffs
  • Line extensions
  • Meter tests
  • Outages
  • Quality of service
  • Reasonable payment arrangements
  • Service installation
  • Termination and re-connection of service
  • Unauthorized utility service switching to another provider
