Gov. Malloy Announces Connecticut Deployed More National Guard Resources to the Caribbean Saturday to Continue with Hurricane Maria Recovery
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the State of Connecticut on Saturday afternoon deployed a second C-130H cargo plane and seven additional Airmen from the 103rd Airlift Wing of the Connecticut National Guard to the Caribbean to continue assistance with Hurricane Maria recovery efforts. The unit, which departed from Bradley Air National Guard Base in East Granby, includes C-130H pilots, crewmembers, loadmasters, and maintainers.

Gov. Malloy Announces Connecticut Has Deployed Additional Airmen and Supplies to Puerto Rico and St. Thomas for Hurricane Maria Relief Efforts
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the State of Connecticut has deployed a C-130H cargo plane and seven Airmen from the 103rd Airlift Wing of the Connecticut National Guard to help with Hurricane Maria response and relief efforts in Puerto Rico and St. Thomas. The unit, which departed from Bradley Air National Guard Base in East Granby this morning, includes C-130H pilots, crewmembers, loadmasters, and maintainers.

Gov. Malloy and Lt. Gov. Wyman Announce Impact of Graham-Cassidy Healthcare Bill on Connecticut
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman today announced that according to a new analysis of the impact on Connecticut of the Graham-Cassidy bill – the latest version of Trumpcare – healthcare coverage for tens-of-thousands of the state’s residents could be threatened. Ultimately, as much as $2.2 billion in annual costs would be added to the state at full implementation in 2026, with total costs projected to reach almost $7 billion through fiscal year 2026.

Gov. Malloy: Republican Budget Significantly Reduces Funding for the State’s Most Struggling Schools, Ignoring Court Order
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today said that the biennial state budget that was introduced by legislative Republicans and adopted last week by the General Assembly significantly reduces – and in some cases completely eliminates – funding streams for the state’s highest need and lowest performing school districts, ignoring a court order to create a more equitable education aid funding system and putting into jeopardy ongoing efforts to close the achievement gap.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman today announced that Anthem and ConnectiCare Benefits, Inc. have committed to participate in Connecticut’s health insurance exchange, Access Health CT, for 2018. Approximately 100,000 Connecticut residents purchase coverage through Access Health CT.

Governor Nancy Wyman today are congratulating the University of Connecticut on receiving its highest ranking to date among the nation’s top public universities, having reached No. 18 on this year’s U.S. News & World Report list and marking its seventh consecutive year in the Top 25. Gov. Malloy Directs Flags to Half-Staff Tuesday in Observance of the Funeral Services for U.S. Navy Petty Officer Dustin Doyon
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he is directing U.S. and state flags in Connecticut to be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, in observation of the funeral services for U.S. Navy Electronics Technician 2nd Class Dustin Louis Doyon, which are scheduled to be held on that day in Suffield. Accordingly, since no flag should fly higher than the U.S. flag, all other flags – including state, municipal, corporate, or otherwise – should also be lowered during this same duration of time.

Gov. Malloy Sends Legislators Compromise Budget Proposal
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today released a compromise budget proposal for FY18 and FY19. The proposal achieves dramatic structural change geared at stabilizing Connecticut’s finances over the long-term, while also being responsive to concerns voiced in recent months by legislators, town leaders, and recipients of state aid. This is the Governor’s third balanced budget proposal since February.
