• 8/2/2021 Lamont Administration Reaches Revised Telework Agreement With State Employee Unions

  The Lamont administration and leadership of the State Employees Bargaining Agent Coalition (SEBAC), which represents several Connecticut state employees unions, have reached an agreement resolving disputes related to telework and its role in transitioning state employees back into the workplace following the initial outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

• 8/2/2021 Governor Lamont Announces Deployment of More Than $16 Million To Support Local Special Education COVID-19 Recovery Efforts

  Governor Ned Lamont and Connecticut Acting Commissioner of Education Charlene Russell-Tucker today visited Regional School District 17 in Higganum to highlight the more than $16 million in Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief II (ESSER II) funds that are being made available to assist 170 school districts across Connecticut with delivering special education services to more than 80,000 students during the 2021-22 school year.

• 8/2/2021 Governor Lamont Signs Legislation Making It Easier for Military Spouses and Others Relocating to Connecticut To Obtain Occupational Licenses

  Governor Ned Lamont today joined members of the military, their families, and military advocates for a bill signing ceremony in Groton to commemorate the enactment of a new state law making it easier for the spouses of active duty service members who have relocated to Connecticut as a result of their spouse’s military assignments – as well as any other individuals who are relocating to the state – to receive the state licenses and certifications necessary to obtain employment in certain healthcare professions and other types of trades.

• 8/2/2021 Governor Lamont Urges Residents to Shop Connecticut Grown During National Farmers Market Week

  Governor Ned Lamont is urging Connecticut residents to support local farmers during National Farmers Market Week – which runs from August 1 to 7, 2021 – by purchasing locally grown products designated with the Connecticut Grown logo and visiting some of the more than 90 certified farmers markets statewide.

• 7/29/2021 Governor Lamont Reminds Residents That Connecticut’s Minimum Wage Is Scheduled To Increase on Sunday

  Governor Ned Lamont is reminding Connecticut residents that – as a result of legislation he enacted two years ago scheduling several increases in the minimum wage over a five-year period – the minimum wage in the state will increase from the current rate of $12.00 per hour to $13.00 per hour beginning on Sunday, August 1, 2021.

• 7/29/2021 Governor Lamont Announces Aflac Selected as Claims Administrator for Paid Leave Program, Company Will Bring 150 Jobs to New Offices in Windsor

  Governor Ned Lamont today announced that insurance company Aflac has been selected to serve as the claims administrator for the recently established Connecticut Paid Leave Authority. With its selection, the Fortune 500 company plans to open new offices in Windsor, where it will locate approximately 150 jobs.

  Governor Ned Lamont today announced that his administration is awarding $3.8 million in grants to cover the costs associated with implementing needing security infrastructure improvements at the facilities of 97 nonprofit organizations in Connecticut.
