Governor Lamont Announces Federal Approval of Connecticut’s Plan For Coronavirus Emergency Relief Funding in Schools
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that the U.S. Department of Education has approved his administration’s plan for use of the $110 million the State of Connecticut is receiving from the federal American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund.

Governor Lamont Directs Flags To Half-Staff in Honor of the Victims of the Attack in Afghanistan
Governor Ned Lamont announced that – in accordance with a proclamation issued by President Joe Biden directing flags to be lowered throughout the country as a mark of respect for the U.S. service members and other victims killed in the terrorist attack today in Kabul, Afghanistan – U.S. and state flags in Connecticut will fly at half-staff beginning immediately until sunset on Monday, August 30, 2021.

Governor Ned Lamont, Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz, U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal, and the UConn School of Business today announced that Connecticut has been awarded a five-year, $2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) to operate a national MBDA Advanced Manufacturing Center.
