Governor Lamont Announces Federal Broadband and Digital Equity Grant Awards
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that the State of Connecticut is receiving approximately $5 million through two grant awards from the U.S. Department of Commerce to support the development of an extensive plan that will identify pathways to expand Connecticut residents’ access to affordable, high-speed internet and the skills to engage in today’s digital society.

Governor Lamont Directs Flags To Half-Staff Wednesday for the Tenth Anniversary of the Tragedy in Sandy Hook
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that he is directing U.S. and State of Connecticut flags to be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, in remembrance of the twenty children and six adults who were killed ten years ago in the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown.

Governor Lamont Says More Actions Need To Be Taken To Prevent Mass Shootings and Gun Violence
As the tenth anniversary of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown approaches later this week, Governor Ned Lamont is saying that not enough has been done to prevent tragedy like the one that occurred on December 14, 2012, and he is calling on federal and state lawmakers to take long-needed and overdue actions on gun violence prevention.

Governor Lamont Announces $24.6 Million in State Funding to Remediate 41 Blighted Properties Throughout Connecticut
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that his administration is releasing approximately $24.6 million in state funding to local communities help with the costs associated with assessing and remediating 41 blighted parcels of land in 16 towns and cities across Connecticut for the purposes of putting them back in to productive use.
