Governor Lamont and Coalition of Governors Urge Trump Administration to Reverse Proposal Disqualifying Millions of Low-Income Americans from Food Assistance
Governor Ned Lamont and a coalition of 16 other governors from states throughout the country today sent a letter to U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue voicing their opposition to a proposed rule that will change the way in which states are allowed to administer Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, formerly known as food stamps.

Governor Lamont Signs Law Increasing Public Access to Information Within State’s Criminal Justice System
Governor Ned Lamont today joined legislators and stakeholders in the state’s criminal justice system at a bill signing ceremony to commemorate the adoption of a new law the governor proposed that will provide the public with greater information regarding how prosecutors make decisions in criminal cases, particularly when it comes to the screening and charging of cases, pretrial and bail recommendations, diversion to programs, case processing, plea negotiations, and sentencing recommendations.
