Governor Ned Lamont today announced that as another heat wave is expected to approach Connecticut in the coming days, he is directing Connecticut’s Extreme Hot Weather Protocol to be activated effective at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, 2024, and remaining in effect through 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.

Governor Lamont Announces Connecticut Receives $38.9 Million Federal Grant to Aid in the Conversion of CTfastrak to an All-Electric Bus Fleet
Governor Ned Lamont and Connecticut Transportation Commissioner Garrett Eucalitto today announced that the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is receiving a $38.9 million competitive grant from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to purchase 46 battery electric buses and install 29 chargers for the CTfastrak bus rapid transit service.

Governor Ned Lamont today announced that he is directing U.S. and state flags in Connecticut lowered to half-staff effective at sunrise on Friday, July 5, 2024, and remaining lowered until sunset on Saturday, July 6, 2024, in honor of Connecticut Department of Transportation employee Andrew DiDomenico, who was struck and killed by a motor vehicle on June 28 while working on the Wharton Brook Connector near I-91 in Wallingford.
