Legislative Affairs

What we do

The Office of Legislative Affairs at the Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS) serves as the primary liaison between the agency and the Connecticut General Assembly, federal partners, and stakeholders.

Our mission is rooted in public service, ensuring that laws and policies reflect the needs of Connecticut residents. We work in close partnership with lawmakers, state agencies, and community partners to support legislation that strengthens access to essential services and promotes the well-being of individuals and families across the state.
