Get Help Applying for SNAP with SNAP Outreach

Connecticut Association for Community Action- CAFCA

SNAP Outreach

We partner with community organizations to help you learn about SNAP. You can also get help with applications and renewals. This is known as “SNAP Outreach.”

Right now, we partner with the Connecticut Association for Community Action (CAFCA) to provide SNAP Outreach help. CAFCA is the coordinating agency for the 8 community action agencies (CAAs) in the state. CAAs can help you learn about the benefits of being on SNAP. They can help you apply for SNAP and learn what documents you will need when you apply.

All of the 8 CAAs provide the following services:

  • SNAP pre-screening: a tool available to see if you are eligible for the SNAP program
  • Help you understand how to apply for SNAP
  • Help you fill out and turn in your SNAP application
  • Help you get and turn in documents needed
  • Help you complete your renewal and Periodic Report Form (PRF)
  • Give you information about the SNAP program
  • Presentations to help you learn about SNAP
