Connecticut Celebrates June Dairy Month

6/04/2026

HARTFORD, CT — The Connecticut Department of Agriculture (CT DoAg) is celebrating June Dairy Month by recognizing the essential contributions of the state’s dairy farm families and highlighting community events taking place throughout the month. Connecticut’s 80 dairy farms care for more than 19,000 cows and steward over 70,000 acres of farmland, producing fresh, nutritious dairy products while strengthening local economies and preserving working lands.

Through the Connecticut Milk Promotion Board, administered by CT DoAg, dairy farmers continue to support youth athletics, local food education, and community events that help residents connect with the people producing their milk, cheese, and other dairy products.

“June Dairy Month is a chance to shine a light on the farmers who work every day to provide safe, high‑quality milk while caring for their land and animals,” said Agriculture Commissioner Bryan P. Hurlburt. “These events give residents an opportunity to meet their local farmers, celebrate community, and learn more about the importance of Connecticut’s dairy industry.”
