• National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR), Lyme, Old Lyme, and Groton

  Notice of a public hearing for an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) scoping meeting required to designate portions of the Lower Connecticut River, Bluff Point, Haley Farm State Park and adjacent areas of Long Island Sound as part of a proposed National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR). Public hearing to be held on August 4, 2020. Written comments due by August 18, 2020.

• Notice of Radioactive Materials and Sources of Ionizing Radiation Permanent Regulation

  Notice of a regulatory amendment to adopt a permanent replacement for emergency regulations effective on 25 September 2025 and scheduled to expire on 24 March 2026. In doing so, this proposal maintains the Department’s enforcement authority over the use of radioactive materials and other sources of ionizing radiation. A public hearing was not requested by October 17, 2025, therefore the public hearing originally scheduled for October 30, 2025 has been cancelled. Written comments are due by November 3, 2025.

  Notice of tentative determination to approve a public hearing for ground water reclassification from Class GB to Class GC, submitted by Wheelabrator Putnam Ash Residue Landfill. A hearing to receive public comment will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 10:30am via Zoom. Written comments due by July 11, 2021.

• Notice of Intent to Amend Regulations Concerning the Use and Control of Radioactive Materials

  The main purpose of this proposal is the modernization of Connecticut’s regulations concerning the use and control of radioactive materials. This proposal also creates the regulatory infrastructure necessary to achieve Agreement State status with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and adopts civil penalties for violations related to sources of ionizing radiation. A public hearing will be held on January 17, 2024. Written comments are due no later than 5pm on January 29, 2024, a second extension of the original comment deadline of January 19, 2024.

• Clean Water Fund Priority List, Fiscal Year 2021

  Notice of public hearing will be held to collect comments on the draft fiscal year 2021 Priority List for the Clean Water Fund program on March 30, 2021. Written comments are due by March 23, 2021.
