In attendance: Maureen Platt, Chair, Joy Reho, Marielle Daniels, Monica Polzella, Candida Fusco, Laura Cordes, Linda Cimino, Patti LaMonica, Michelle Noehren, Anna Doroghazi

The meeting was called to order to 3:02 p.m.

The minutes from the December 10, 2012, meeting were approved with the following corrections: Laura Cordes was present at the December 10, 2012, meeting, but her name was inadvertently omitted from the list of those attending. Anna Doroghazi’s name was misspelled.

Linda Cimino gave a report from the Bill Paying Subcommittee. She reported that the since last July a total of 874 claims from reimbursement have been submitted; 244 for adults, 195 for victims between the ages of 13-19, and 435 from children 12 and under.

Linda Cimino also gave the report for the Sexual Assault Forensic Examienr/Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SAFE/SANE) program. She reported that since last July, the program has responded to 136 cases.

Several members of the Commission Subcommittee dealing with possible changes to the Technical Guidelines reported on the progress of the group. Possible language was discussed to amend the Guidelines to deal with the collection of evidence from an unresponsive patient. It was agreed that the group should continue to work on the issue, and report back to the full Commission during the June meeting. It was also agreed that the group should begin to discuss the issue of collecting evidence from an intoxicated or drugged patient.

The Subcommittee will meet on April 23, 2013, at the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney, 300 Corporate Place, Rocky Hill at 2 p.m.

The Commission will next meet on June 17, 2013, from 3-4:30 p.m. at the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney, 300 Corporate Place, Rocky Hill.
