Chief State's Attorney's Meeting
Minutes of July 27, 2009, Meeting
In attendance: Kevin Kane, Leonard Boyle, John Russotto, David Cohen, Eva Lenczewski for John Connelly, Michael Dearington, Matthew Crockett for Patricia Froehlich, Matthew Gedansky, Gail Hardy, Kevin Lawlor, Timothy Liston, Scott Murphy, Michael Regan, Stephen Sedensky, David Shepack, and Robert Satti for John Smriga.

The meeting started at approximately 12:50 p.m. The minutes from the June 22, 2009, meeting were reviewed and unanimously approved.
Chief State's Attorney Kevin Kane welcomed newly appointed Deputy Chief State's Attorney for Operations, Leonard C. Boyle, to the meeting.
Mr. Kane reported briefly on the budget indicating that negotiations are ongoing. In the meantime, State's Attorneys were asked to prioritize their personnel needs and to send any such requests to the Office of the Chief State's Attorney. State's Attorney David Shepack inquired about bringing back former state employees to testify in criminal trials, specifically from the State Forensic Lab and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Mr. Kane discussed proposed changes to Rule 3.8 of the Rules of Professional Responsibility and asked the State's Attorneys to review the new language and respond with any comments.
Information Technology Manager Evelyn Godbout presented the revised draft of the Division of Criminal Justice's Case Management System requirements for both Part A and Part B cases.
