The Medical Marijuana Program Board of Physicians operates within the Department of Consumer Protection and comprises the Commissioner of the Department of Consumer Protection and up to eight members. The Board is charged with advising the Department of Consumer Protection regarding implementation of various provisions of Connecticut General Statutes, Chapter 420f, Section 21a-408.

No, the law restricts your ability to certify patients to adults 18 years and older.

Is there a limit on how many times I can issue a temporary certification, extending a patient’s registration?
Yes, once per year or once per registration period in cases of 2-year and 18-month registrations.

Can another pharmacist extend a temporary certification issued for a new patient by a pharmacist when it’s done at different dispensary facility?
No, a temporary certification issued by a pharmacist to a new patient cannot be issued an extension once the 90-day initial certification expires, regardless of where the initial certification was made.

Yes, the law limits your compensation for issuing temporary certifications to $25.
