Attorney General Files Agreement to Revoke Pension of Former Waterbury Library Clerk
Under an agreement filed in Hartford Superior Court this week, a former library clerk for the city of Waterbury who pleaded guilty to a felony larceny charge for embezzling more than $200,000 from a city library will have her pension revoked, Attorney General George Jepsen said today.

Attorney General Jepsen: October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month
Cybercrimes and security breaches are a growing problem globally, claiming 556 million victims annually and over $100 billion in costs. This month, Attorney General George Jepsen is participating in National Cyber Security Awareness Month, a month-long collaborative effort between the United States Department of Homeland Security and the National Cyber Security Alliance that began in 2004 and is held every October. Attorney General George Jepsen and state Department of Consumer Protection Commissioner Jonathan A. Harris are advising Connecticut residents who may be holding gift cards, certificates or store credits to the electronic retail establishment RadioShack to use their gift cards as soon as possible. The company recently filed bankruptcy and has announced plans to close stores in Connecticut as early as February 17 and as late as March 31 of this year.

State Settles Joint State-Federal False Claims Act Investigation with Pediatric Dental Provider
A pediatric dental provider with practices in Milford and West Haven will pay more than $1.3 million to the state and federal government to resolve allegations that he submitted false claims to Connecticut's Medicaid program for x-ray services that did not comply with state law, Attorney General George Jepsen said today.

A New York-based property management company will provide $187,095 restitution to its Connecticut subcontractors and will pay a $50,000 civil penalty to the state of Connecticut under a settlement agreement resolving an investigation into the manner in which it calculated bonuses owed to its subcontractors, Attorney General George Jepsen and state Department of Consumer Protection Commissioner Jonathan A. Connecticut, 34 other states and the District of Columbia filed a federal lawsuit yesterday afternoon against the makers of Suboxone, a prescription drug used to treat opioid addiction, alleging that the companies engaged in an illegal scheme to block generic competitors from entering the market and cause purchasers to pay artificially high prices, Attorney General George Jepsen said.
