The Red, White & Blue Schools program is a civic engagement initiative led by former Secretary of the State Denise Merrill and the State Department of Education. Launched in 2016, the program aims to promote the importance of civic involvement among Connecticut students of all ages. Connecticut schools that participate are encouraged to develop civics programs and classes that are innovative and informative. These civics programs follow a different yearly theme, which the Secretary’s office and the Department of Education choose. Schools submit documents, reports, lesson plans, and photographs to a committee composed of staff from both departments. Some schools receive awards for particularly outstanding and exceptionally creative programs.

The 2021-2022 theme is State and Local Government. A series of seminars will be held from 11/10/2021 through 12/8/2021. Click Here for more information. Click Here to register for the series!
