2021-22 CT Flu Vaccination Clinics

Flu activity was low during the 2020-21 flu season in the U.S. and globally. The low activity may have been due to flu vaccination efforts and COVID-19 prevention actions recommending the wearing of face masks, hand washing, physically distancing and reduced travel. We know that seasonal influenza activity will begin increasing in the coming weeks and months as fall begins.

The COVID-19 virus that caused the pandemic continues to circulate worldwide along with the ongoing threat of the Delta variant and other virulent strains. Flu viruses and COVID-19 viruses are highly contagious and present a severe threat to the public’s health.

The CT Department of Public Health (DPH) will partner with Local Health Departments to provide a list of flu clinics around the state (see schedule below). You can also visit vaccines.gov to find a clinic offering influenza vaccination in your area. DPH strongly recommends that persons 6 months of age and older get a flu shot.  Several local health departments and districts plan to offer vaccinations to children and adults.

Check with your local health department and districts for the 2021 fee for a flu shot. The fee may vary depending on the type of vaccine. Many insurance companies cover the cost of the flu shot. Bring a current insurance card to the vaccination clinic.

Please note:  Many local health departments/districts around the state will be conducting flu clinics. Please check below for upcoming flu clinics in your area. If your town is not listed, please visit the link above to find which local health department your town is part of or consider checking with your healthcare provider or pharmacy.
