Currently, the Department does not have the functionality to allow licensees to renew licenses via the DPH website.  Renewal transactions must be completed via U.S. Mail.

All licensees can expect to receive a renewal application approximately 60 days prior to expiration and if not renewed, a final notice 30 days following expiration, at the licensee's address of record on file in this office.  Please keep your address current.

Licensee's who have not received a renewal application within these time frames should contact this office and request that a renewal application be mailed.

Most licenses issued by the EPLU expire in the first birth month following issuance and are renewable annually thereafter.

Inactive Status

There is no inactive status for licenses; a licensee would either need to keep the license current or let it lapse due to non-renewal.  Once a licensed has lapsed due to non-renewal and the licensee subsequently would like to reactivate the license, the licensee would need to apply for and meet the requirements for reinstatement specific to the profession.

Grace Period

Pursuant to Section 19a-88(e)(4)f, Connecticut General Statues, all licenses issued by the PLIS have a grace period of 90 days following expiration during which time the licensee may continue to practice and renew the license.  On the 91st day, the license becomes void and the licensee must apply for reinstatement.

Please send all correspondence to the attention of the profession for which you are licensed.

Printing of Licenses

Please note that subsequent to renewal, a new license document is mailed to the licensee during the third week of the following month in which the license was renewed.  For example, licenses renewed in January should be received during the third week of February.

BOTH YOUR LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION MUST BE CURRENT FOR YOU TO CONTINUE TO WORK IN THIS STATE.
