A
Agency About Page Template: A page that introduces the Agency, its structure, organization, and mission.
Agency Board/Commission Page Template: A page specific for an Agency Board or Commission with pre-defined navigation topics.
Agency Division Page: A page that can be appended to the Agency About section to introduce an Agency division, office, bureau, etc.
Agency Landing Page Template: The home page of the Agency website.
Agency Most Popular Services Page: A page that displays the 5 Most Popular Services found on the topic pages (Secondary Pages).
Agency Search Results Page Template: A page that dynamically displays the results of a site search.
Agency Secondary Page Template: The landing page of main navigation topic
Alias: A simplified URL that Sitecore is instructed to associate with an area on the site, allowing for ease of navigation for Website visitors.
Alt Text: An alternative text description read by screen readers to help explain an image to blind and visually impaired users.

Breadcrumb Trail: A path of the directory structure, appearing on every page, that provides website visitors a way to see where they are within the site and easily navigate backwards.
C
Check In: Unlock content at the completion of the editing process to allow other Sitecore Users to access and edit the page or element.
Check Out: Lock content to prevent other Sitecore Users from editing it.
Content Editor: Sitecore editing view that exposes the content via a "back end" Sitecore User interface, e.g. viewing content in a folder tree structure.
Content Management System (CMS): A web-based tool which allows Agencies to create and author content for their websites.
Content Tree: A visual file structure display of the website content in Sitecore, used to navigate the Content Editor.

Dynamic List Page Template: A template that displays content from different parts of an Agency website on one page in a list. Content must be tagged with List Items to be included in a Dynamic List.

Edit Mode: Within the Experience Platform View, this mode allows the Sitecore User to modify content, but not navigate the website.
Experience Editor: A Sitecore editing view that exposes the content for a "front end" authoring experience. Using the Experience Editor, Sitecore Users can edit content within the context of the website itself.
External Link: A hyperlink that directs the user to an external website.

Feature Item: A page element that contains an image, a title, and a brief description.
I
iFrame: An HTML document embedded inside another HTML document on a website. An iFrame allows you to seamlessly display content from other external sources.

Left Navigation: A list of hyperlinked topics leading to a specific page or section of the website.
Link List: A page element that contains multiple Internal, External, and Media Links.
Lists: Navigation categories that populate Dynamic List Template items.
M
Media Library: The area in Sitecore where all images and files are stored.
Media Link: Links that allow a Website Visitor to access Content Items in the Media Library.
Meta Description: A description of the web page that briefly explains the page’s content. This description can appear in the search engine results under the meta title.
Meta Keywords: Key words on the web page that identifies main points of the page’s content.
Meta Title: The title of the web page that explains the page’s content. This title also appears in the top bar of the web browser and in search engine results.

Press Release Listing Page: A page that displays a listing of press releases with a date, title, and brief description.
Preview Mode: Within the Experience Platform View, this mode allows the Sitecore User to navigate the website, but not modify content.
Publish: Commit changes to the Website to the web, allowing website visitors to view them.

Ribbon Notification: A Sitecore system notice that displays across the top of the screen, usually in red or yellow, with important information.
Rich Text Editor (RTE): An interface that allows a Sitecore User to add HTML formatting to content without needing to know HTML syntax.
S
Sitecore: The content management system selected by the State of Connecticut to house and provide web-based authoring for Agency website content.
Sitecore Link, Internal Link: When content is created in Sitecore, it is given a unique ID. When a link is made to Sitecore content, Sitecore will use that unique ID to create the link to the Sitecore content. This allows Sitecore to manage links so if content is deleted and it is linked to, a warning will be given indicating that the content is currently linked to.
Sitecore User: Generic term for Content Authors, Content Approvers, and System Administrators, referring to functions or features that apply to all roles equally.
T
Tagging: The act of assigning an item such as a document or page or link to one or more existing topics or dynamic lists in order to display that item in multiple areas of the website.
Task: A goal that a website visitor has come to CT.gov or the Agency website to accomplish, e.g. looking up a record, renewing a license, etc.
Task Template: Any of six templates designed to complete a specific Agency task: Apply, Grants, Learn/Search/Find, Licenses/Certifications/Permits, Order/Pay/Purchase, and Report.
Teaser: A brief summary of the page or document in Agency search results and listings. Adding a teaser provides the viewer with a brief and meaningful summary of a page or document before they select it.
Toolbar: Interface in Sitecore with options for editing content or page elements.
Topics: Navigation categories that dictate where a content item is found when a website visitor uses the Agency-specific search in the CT.gov website.

User, Website Visitor: Member of the public visiting the Agency website.
