Meetings-Agenda and Minutes

The State Emergency Response Commission (SERC) generally meets on the 3rd Thursday of odd numbered months. 
Meetings begin at 1:30 pm unless otherwise noted and last between one and two hours.

The purpose of the meetings is to address EPCRA state and local issues and advance federal, state, regional, and local interagency coordination.  The meetings also offer the opportunity for commission members, attendees, and public participants to become familiar with each other's roles and responsibilities in the state and local communities.  Regular meetings are restricted to agenda items only.  No other business may be considered except by a majority vote of members present and voting.  The agenda identifies specific issues to be discussed as well as guest speakers.  The SERC operates under Bylaws PDF.

The State Emergency Response Commission (SERC)  members include the Commissioners of the Departments of Energy and Environmental Protection, Emergency Services and Public Protection, Public Health, Transportation, and Labor; the Secretary of the Office of Policy and Management; Office of the State Fire Marshal; Office of the State Fire Administrator; the Adjutant General of the Military Department; (or their designees or a designee); and nine members appointed by the Governor.

All SERC meetings begin at 1:30 pm unless otherwise announced.

Meetings are generally via online webinar and sometimes in person or hybrid.  If there is an in-person component it is at either CT DESPP-DEMHS, 1111 Country Club Road, Middletown or CT DEEP, 79 Elm Street, Hartford CT.

The SERC meetings are open to the public.  Anyone interested in attending a meeting of the Connecticut SERC should contact the SERC at DEEP.CTEPCRA@ct.gov to verify the meeting location.
