Sponsors of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Child Nutrition Programs must submit monthly claims for reimbursement to the Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE). The current reimbursement rates are available on the CSDE's Reimbursement Rates for Child Nutrition Programs webpage.
Claims are submitted online through the Connecticut Online Application and Claiming System for Child Nutrition Programs (CNP System). For guidance on using the CNP System, visit the CSDE's CNP System webpage.
The USDA regulations for the Child Nutrition Programs specify time limits for sponsor submission of monthly claims for reimbursement. The claim due date is the 15th of the month following the last day of the month covered by the claim. When the 15th falls on a weekend or holiday, the due date follows the schedule outlined in the Claim Submission Schedule below. Final claims, including revisions, must be submitted to the CSDE no later than 60 days following the last day of the month covered by the claim. Claims not filed or corrected within the 60 days might not be paid.
