New Standard Service Rates for Eversource and United Illuminating (UI) customers, covering the period from January through June 2025, have been announced. Customers are encouraged to check the rate board for up-to-date supply rate options at Energize CT

Program Overview
The Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Program is a statewide program that provides incentives for residential and commercial light-duty EV charging equipment, as well as accompanying rate design offerings, to optimize charging behavior. Launched in January 2022, this nine-year program is administered by Connecticut’s regulated electric companies, Eversource Energy and The United Illuminating (UI) Company.

The EV Charging Program supports Connecticut’s commitment to deploy 125,000 - 150,000 EVs by 2025. The program aims to integrate EVs and related technologies into the electric grid efficiently, maximizing electric system benefits. Overall, the program aims to deploy over 65,000 residential and commercial EV charging ports by 2030.

*NEW* Recent Changes (2024 only)

In the latest EV Charging Program annual review, PURA authorized several changes to the program, including:

  • Residential single-family customers now have greater flexibility in receiving EV charging and wiring upgrade incentives.  Specifically, customers can now receive up to $1,000 to help cover the cost of an EV charger, wiring upgrade, or both.  Residential single-family customers can also participate in the Managed Charging program and receive up to $120 a year through the Baseline Tier or up to $300 a year through the Advanced Tier.  Reach out to your electric utility for more information.
  • Residents of multi-unit dwellings can now participate in a managed charging program and receive additional financial incentives.  Participants will receive an upfront $50 enrollment incentive and $10 per month for every month charging occurs during off-peak hours (i.e., overnight).  Reach out to your electric utility for more information.
  • The Workplace & Light-Duty Fleet Program Area now only requires a minimum of 2 ports in order to receive incentives.
