Handle unpaid hospital bills

Read time: 6 minutes

What if I won't be able to pay my hospital bill?

Every hospital in Connecticut has a financial assistance policy. Always ask about your hospital’s policy before you receive services if you are concerned that your bill will be more than you can afford. You may qualify for a sliding fee scale, free care or other assistance. You can find the hospital’s financial assistance policy on their website and it should also be posted in the patient registration office.  If you don’t see it, ask the staff where you can find it and how you can apply.
