Gov. Malloy: State Seeks Proposals for Mobile Manufacturing Training Labs
Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced today that the Department Economic and Community Development (DECD), in collaboration with the Department of Labor (DOL) and the Connecticut Manufacturing Innovation Fund (MIF) Advisory Board has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) to create a mobile manufacturing training lab program for the State of Connecticut. The goal is to provide incumbent workers with the skills to succeed in manufacturing jobs and to increase and sustain the engagement of Connecticut’s young people in the state’s manufacturing talent pipeline.

Gov. Malloy Announces Completion of New Train Station in Berlin Serving the Hartford Line
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today joined Connecticut Department of Transportation Commissioner James P. Redeker and other state and local officials to commemorate the grand opening of the new CTrail Hartford Line station in Berlin. Located at 51 Depot Road, the station provides service to Hartford Line and Amtrak trains.

Gov. Malloy Announces New State Law Banning Bump Stocks Is Now in Effect
Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced that a new state law he signed (Public Act 18-29) that bans the sale, purchase, possession, and manufacturing of bump stocks and other enhancements that increase the rate of fire for semiautomatic weapons has taken effect today. Connecticut now joins just a handful of states the ban the devices – a situation that Governor Malloy said needs to be addressed on a national basis by Congress.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the State of Connecticut has approved an additional round grants totaling $10 million that will be used to enhance security infrastructure at 182 public and private schools in 51 towns and cities across the state. Malloy announced today that the State of Connecticut has been awarded over $30 million in Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Loan Fund grants by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency that will be used to help finance community-based water infrastructure projects, including for public drinking water systems and municipal sewage plants.

Gov. Malloy Announces Stay of Deportation Granted for Farmington Family
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that a stay of deportation has been granted to Zhe Long “Tony” Huang and Xiang Jin “Kris” Li of Farmington. Earlier today, the Governor, along with Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman and State Representative William Tong, met with Huang and had a conversation with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials imploring them to grant a stay for family.
