GOV. MALLOY'S TWO STORM PANEL TO MEET WEDNESDAY

Features Presentations from Leading Energy Experts

(HARTFORD, CT) - The working group Governor Dannel P. Malloy created to review the preparedness, response and recovery efforts of Tropical Storm Irene and the October Nor'easter will meet on Wednesday, December 7 as it continues hearing testimony from experts in preparation to compose its final set of recommendations for the Governor.

On Wednesday, the group is expected to hear from leading energy experts, including Erik S. Sonju, Vice President of Power Delivery Planning & Design for Power Systems Engineering in Madison, Wisconsin; Steve Fenrick, a Leader in Benchmarking and Economic Studies for Power Systems Engineering; Lee S. Langston, Professor Emeritus of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Connecticut; and Robert Thornton, President of the International District Energy Association.

In addition, they will hear testimony from the commissioners of the state Department of Transportation and Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, and from the Acting State Building Inspector and Director of Technical Services for the Department of Construction Services.

Information on the meeting, which begins at 9:30 a.m. in Room 2C of the Legislative Office Building in Hartford, can be found in the attached meeting agenda .

This will be the eighth time the group has met since it was initially created. It is anticipated there will be a total of nine meetings before the group begins drafting its final recommendations, which will be given to the Governor at the beginning of January.
