Malloy announced today that commuter rail service between Stamford and New York's Grand Central Terminal will resume Thursday morning, following just three days of suspended service as a result of the damage and havoc caused by Hurricane Sandy. Gov. Malloy: Historic Arrigoni Bridge Fully Open After Construction

Gov. Malloy: Charter Communications Establishing Corporate Headquarters in Connecticut
Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced today that Charter Communications, Inc., a Fortune 500 company and the fourth-largest cable operator in the United States, plans to establish its headquarter office in downtown Stamford. Charter will invest more than $10 million and intends to bring 200 jobs to the area, which includes the majority of its executive officers. Charter will lease an approximately 70,000 square foot space at 400 Atlantic Street.

Gov. Malloy: Federal Grants Awarded to Support Extended Learning in High-Need Schools

Malloy announced today that fourteen grant applications from municipalities throughout the state, totaling more than $2.5 million, have been approved as part of the United States Department of Education’s 21st Century Community Learning Center initiative, which supports programs that help children in high-need schools succeed academically by increasing access to extended learning opportunities.
