Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced the state will support the expansion plans of CareCentrix, a leading provider of home health benefits management services. As the latest "First Five" company, the project will save more than 200 existing jobs and add nearly 300 new positions by 2017.

Gov. Malloy: Removing Bureaucratic Barriers is Key to Achieving Academic Excellence
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced members of the Red Tape Review and Removal Task Force, the group that will study how the state can remove bureaucratic barriers to academic excellence. In January, the Governor announced his plan to reduce state education mandates and to unleash innovation by empowering local districts to improve student achievement.

Gov. Malloy Statement on May Jobs Report
Governor Dannel P. Malloy issued the following statement regarding today’s release of the Connecticut Department of Labor’s monthly “Labor Situation” report for May 2012, which indicates that the state’s unemployment rate for the month was 7.8 percent, compared to the national rate of 8.2 percent. The state grew 1,400 jobs in the month of May and a total of 6,100 jobs since the beginning of the year.

Gov. Malloy: Renewable Resources Establishing U.S. Headquarters in Connecticut
Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced today that Renewable Resources Inc, a Scottish solar development company, will open its United States headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut. The company plans to hire 50 employees by the end of this year, with the potential for future expansion.

Gov. Malloy Announces Initiative to Phase-in Property Revaluations
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced an initiative that will allow communities across the state to phase-in revaluations of property for a period of up to five years, even if the value of property decreases. Under current law, municipalities can only phase-in increases in assessments. This new initiative allows towns and cities to "responsibly administer revaluations in a way that blunts the negative impact to residents," said Governor Malloy.
