The Food Protection Program offers several training opportunities for a 3-year certification as a Certified Food Inspector (CFI). The program also requires most food retail businesses to train at least one staff member as a Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM).

Certified Food Protection Manager

Most food establishments in Connecticut will be required to have a Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) depending on their classification. A CFPM certification program must be evaluated and listed by a Conference for Food Protection (CFP)-recognized accrediting agency to comply.
