Deputy Commissioner Lisa Morrissey, MPH
Lisa Morrissey, MPH serves as the Deputy Commissioner of Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH), where she oversees Environmental Health and Drinking Water Branch, Office of Public Health Preparedness, Office of Health Equity, Office of Climate Change and Health, Community Family Health and Prevention Branch, and Office of Firearm Injury Prevention. She leads efforts to address environmental justice, public health preparedness, health equity, and injury prevention initiatives.
Lisa has previously served as Director of Health for Bridgeport, Danbury, New Milford, and Housatonic Valley Health District, as well as the towns of Sharon and Washington. Her strategic leadership is demonstrated through her development of programs that focus on public health emergencies, disease prevention, community health improvement, and addressing health disparities.
Lisa holds a Master of Public Health from New York Medical College and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Albertus Magnus College. She is a Distinguished Lecturer at New York Medical College and an Adjunct Professor at both University of Bridgeport and Western Connecticut State University. Her expertise spans health equity, change management, epidemiology, emergency preparedness, environmental health, and climate resilience, with a career-long commitment to advancing public health outcomes through innovative partnerships and interventions.
