The Connecticut Forensic Science Laboratory extends its deepest appreciation to Dr. Guy M. Vallaro as he retires from state service.
Throughout his tenure as Director of the Division of Scientific Services, Dr. Vallaro provided the leadership, vision, and determination that helped transform the laboratory and strengthen its mission. He championed scientific integrity, independence, transparency, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to public service.
Under his leadership, the laboratory expanded its capabilities, embraced new technologies, strengthened partnerships, and built a team of dedicated forensic professionals prepared to carry the mission forward.
Dr. Vallaro consistently challenged us to think differently, maintain the highest standards, and never lose sight of the law enforcement agencies, criminal justice partners, and citizens who depend upon our work.
His influence will continue to be reflected in the work of the laboratory and in the forensic professionals who had the opportunity to learn from and serve alongside him.
We congratulate Dr. Vallaro on his retirement and thank him for his remarkable leadership, dedicated service, and lasting contributions to forensic science and the State of Connecticut.
