The Division of Scientific Services is focused on giving back to the community through our outreach program. In addition to our internship efforts, the laboratory coordinates (2) two open houses per year for students enrolled in a forensic science program to tour our facility. 2025 National Forensic Science Week
September 15th - 19th
This will be the second year in a row that the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection's Division of Scientific Services will host high school and college students for a tour of the Forensic Laboratory. We are expecting over 500 students this year.
Students were introduced to a digital mock short, created by the lab, called Murder on Prospect Trail, followed by an interactive tour of a mock crime scene and the various sections of the lab that would analyst the evidence collected at the scene of the crime.
The Division of Scientific Services will also be holding several staff only events throughout the week.
