(HARTFORD)--The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) held a public meeting today to discuss the findings of the Draft 2024 Connecticut Clean Hydrogen Roadmap. Pursuant to Public Act No. 23-156, and consistent with Connecticut’s greenhouse gas reduction goals as well as DEEP’s Integrated Resource Planning and Comprehensive Energy Strategy that examine the state’s future energy needs and ways to meet those needs, the Draft Roadmap seeks to achieve the following objectives:

DEEP Lifts Statewide Burn Ban on Public Lands It Administers
(HARTFORD)- The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) is pleased to announce that, effective immediately, the statewide burn ban for Connecticut’s State Parks, Forests, and Wildlife Management Areas has been lifted. This decision comes as recent precipitation has significantly improved conditions and lowered the forest fire danger level to LOW to MODERATE statewide over the past few days.

Governors Report 14 States and Puerto Rico are ‘On Track’ to Hit Paris Climate Targets
Citing recent extreme weather event as further evidence of the urgent need for climate solutions, the U.S. Climate Alliance (USCA)--an effort among 14 states and Puerto Rico to reduce greenhouse gas emissions--released a report showing that member states are collectively on track to meet and possibly exceed their portion of the U.S. commitment under the Paris Agreement.

Connecticut Clean Vessel Act Program Home Page - This website will help you find a pumpout facility near you, and to install or upgrade sewage holding tank systems to be in compliance with existing laws governing marine sanitation devices (MSD's). You will find information on how to choose a system, sewage system design and the selection of system components, plus helpful tips for installation and maintenance. You will also find information about the Federal Clean Vessel Act (CVA) Grant Program. The Department of Environmental Protection, Office of Long Island Sound Programs (OLISP) administers this program which provides federally funded matching grants for qualifying projects which provide boat sewage disposal facilities. Up to 75% of the cost of an approved project may be reimbursed.
