Section 22a-430b of the Connecticut General Statutes Notice for Stakeholder Input and Engagement Notice Date: October 31, 2023 Public Engagement Meeting: The Pesticide Program is seeking input and will receive questions from stakeholder groups regarding the proposed General Permit. The Waste Engineering and Enforcement Division, Pesticides Management Program has drafted a proposed General Permit for the Use of Pesticides in State Waters in accordance with Connecticut General Statutes (CGS) Section 22a-430b of the Connecticut General Statutes. The General Permit is intended to replace the requirement for an individual aquatic pesticide permit for certain eligible aquatic pesticide treatments. General Permit: Stakeholders can access a copy of the draft General Permit at the following link: https://portal.ct.gov/-/media/DEEP/pesticides/Aquatic-General-Permit-Draft.pdf Public Engagement Meeting: The Pesticide Program is seeking input and will receive questions from stakeholder groups regarding the proposed General Permit. DEEP hereby provides notice that public meetings will be held on the following dates and times:

• November 14, 2023, at 9 am EST Commercial applicators/application businesses, permit applicants and non-governmental industry organizations

• November 14, 2023, at 1 pm EST Non-governmental environmental conservation organizations

• November 16, 2023, at 9 am EST Municipalities and lake associations

All meetings will run until stakeholder engagement has been exhausted but not longer than 2 hours in duration.

Public Comment During the Meeting: Participants will be given an opportunity to offer comments or ask questions on the proposed General Permit during the meetings.
