Non-tidal Permits

Licenses for Activities in Non-Tidal Waters

Non-tidal refers to inland wetlands, watercourses, and non-consumptive diversion projects.

Supporting documents can be found on our LWRD Forms and Instructions page. All permit applications require the submission of a transmittal form and fee (if applicable). The transmittal and fee must be submitted before the application, however, do not submit the transmittal and fee until the application is complete. Please see Instructions for Completing the Transmittal Form for guidance.

Disclaimer: DEEP only regulates inland wetlands on state land or associated with state action. All other inland wetland projects are regulated at the municipal level. Please view our Inland Wetlands and Watercourses pages for more information. Projects in or adjacent to non-state managed inland wetlands may still require permits from other state programs.

The following permit applications all require the same application, attachments, and follow the same instructions:

  • Section 401 Water Quality Certificate (Non-tidal);
  • Pre-Construction Notification, USACE General Permits for CT;
  • Inland Wetlands and Watercourses;
  • Water Diversion Non-Consumptive
