Emergency Burn Ban In Effect 10/26/24 - An emergency burn ban is now in effect for all Connecticut State Parks, Forests, and Wildlife Management areas, prohibiting the use of all outdoor grills, firepits, and campfires, and the kindling and use of flame outdoors. DEEP and local agencies are working to contain several active fires across the state. Please avoid all affected State Parks and Forests, as well as the blue-blazed Mattabesett Trail. The Enduro Trail in Voluntown and portions of North Stonington within the Pachaug State Forest are closed at this time.   • CT Green Leaf Schools program was created to promote green and healthy schools for all.  It is a great way to focus on sustainability in your school. All K12 schools in Connecticut are eligible to participate in this continuous improvement program. Participation can also lead to recognition in the state, as well as through the U.S. Department of Education's Green Ribbon Schools Awards.
  • The Green Guide for Universities is a new publication that you can download for free now.  It was developed by the International Alliance of Research Universities’ (IARU) and the international think-tank Sustainia.
