Statement from DEEP on CT's First Clean Energy Industry Report

(HARTFORD, CT) – Vicki Hackett, Deputy Commissioner for Energy at the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP), today released the following statement regarding the findings of Connecticut’s first clean energy industry report released November 10 and presented during a public webinar on Wednesday, November 18.

“Five consecutive years of clean energy job growth since 2014 is an outstanding accomplishment for Connecticut and a clear trend in the right direction for our clean energy economy,” Deputy Commissioner Hackett said.  “We remain laser-focused on what lies ahead for COVID-19 recovery and are working hard to enable a quick comeback for this industry that will sustain our progress in reduced energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions in an affordable, equitable, and economically beneficial fashion.”

A summary of DEEP’s efforts to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 emergency on the clean energy economy and the state’s energy efficiency initiatives is available on our website
