Gov. Malloy: AQR Capital Management to Expand, Add Up to 600 New Jobs in Connecticut
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that AQR Capital Management, a global investment management firm, plans to expand its headquarters and operations in Connecticut over the next ten years - a more than $72 million project that will retain 540 jobs, create up to 600 new jobs, and significantly increase the firm's economic impact in the state.
Gov. Malloy: Habco Industries to Expand Operations and Jobs in Glastonbury
Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced today that HABCO Industries, which builds test and ground-support equipment for the aerospace industry, is expanding its Glastonbury operation and plans to increase its workforce from 42 to 79 over the next four years.
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and officials from across state government – on the fifth anniversary of Superstorm Sandy – today highlighted the progress made over the last several years to strengthen resiliency and harden infrastructure from future potential storms, as severe weather has continued to severely impact our nation. Superstorm Sandy was one of the biggest natural disasters to hit Connecticut in more than 60 years, the Governor said.

The company, which recently opened a fulfillment center in Windsor and a sorting center in Wallingford, currently employs approximately 2,000 people in Connecticut. With the addition of the North Haven facility, that number will increase to approximately 3,800 Connecticut-based employees.

Gov. Malloy and Charter Communications Announce Charter’s Plan to Build New Headquarters, Add Jobs
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Charter Communications, Inc., a Fortune 100 company and the second-largest cable operator in the United States, today announced the company’s plans to build a 500,000 square foot, 15-story headquarters at 406 Washington Boulevard in Stamford. Following its commitment to create and retain 400 jobs under the state’s First Five Program in 2012, Charter has committed to create an additional 1,100 new corporate headquarters jobs and has agreed to a total of $100 million in planned capital expenditures in Connecticut over the next several years.

Malloy and executives from Indeed today announced that the internet company has plans to significantly increase its presence in Connecticut by investing $26.5 million to expand its Stamford offices, where its workforce already exceeds 700 employees. The expansion project will see the creation of as many as 500 new jobs in the coming years, bringing the company’s Connecticut job presence to over 1,200 employees.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that SCA Pharmaceuticals, an Arkansas-based company, has decided to establish a presence in Connecticut through the creation of a new 90,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Windsor, where the company has plans to create approximately 361 new jobs over the next four years. SCA manufactures injectable pharmaceuticals in ready-to-administer dosages for use at hospitals and healthcare facilities. The company helps healthcare facilities increase efficiencies and reduce costs while improving patient care.
