Malloy today announced that Four Season Farm LLC, a newly formed venture created by a long-time Connecticut farmer, international greenhouse developer, and former Wall Street executive, will develop ten acres of land in Suffield as a hydroponic farm, where the company plans to create 40 new jobs over the next two years.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Cyient, Inc., a multi-faceted aerospace engineering design and manufacturing firm is expanding its operations in East Hartford. Currently employing 456 full time workers in Connecticut, the company plans to add 85 full-time jobs over the next three years.

Gov. Malloy Announces $61.5 Million to Support Affordable Housing Development in Diverse Communities
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, Department of Housing (DOH) Commissioner Evonne M. Klein, and Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA) Executive Director Karl Kilduff today announced that the State of Connecticut will award more than $61.5 million in grants and loans to help create, rehabilitate, or expand 24 housing developments in 20 towns and cities across the state. The investments will create or rehabilitate 978 homes.

Governor Malloy Announces Jackson Laboratory Exceeds Job Creation Goal in Connecticut, Workforce Anticipated to Nearly Double in the Coming Years.
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that because The Jackson Laboratory (JAX) has exceeded its initial employment goals years ahead of schedule, the state has forgiven $165.9 million in loans used to construct their state-of-the art 185,000 square foot building on the campus of UConn Health.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that KPMG LLP, the U.S. audit, tax and advisory firm, plans to add 110 jobs over the next five years in a new Stamford office. The company recently signed a long-term lease and plans to renovate space in the former UBS building at 677 Washington Boulevard, which it expects to occupy next spring.

Gov. Malloy: Connecticut’s Historic Old New-Gate Prison and Copper Mine to Re-Open to the Public on July 14
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Connecticut’s Old New-Gate Prison and Copper Mine, a national historic landmark and state archaeological preserve, will re-open to the public this Saturday, July 14 after being closed since 2009 for structural repairs.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Seven Stars Cloud Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: SSC) will be establishing its global headquarters for technology and innovation in Connecticut, transforming UConn’s former campus in West Hartford into a thriving center for research, training, and business development. The $283 million project, called Chain Valley, is expected to create 330 jobs over the next five years.

Gov. Malloy Announces Grants for Six Communities That Will Help Put Blighted Properties Back Into Productive Use
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that six municipalities and organizations in Connecticut, including Ansonia, Naugatuck, New Milford, Thompson, the Naugatuck Valley Council of Governments, and the Bridgeport Economic Development Corporation, are being awarded a total of $1 million in state grants that will help the entities in their efforts to remediate and redevelop clusters of blighted properties – also known as “brownfields” – and put them back into productive use.

Malloy today announced that Magnetic Technologies Ltd., an advanced manufacturer of high-quality, magnetic brakes for the wire and cable industry, is relocating to Putnam, Connecticut, where the company will build its new headquarters. The $5.26 million project will create 40 jobs over the next five years.

Gov. Malloy Announces Media Companies ITV America and Wheelhouse Entertainment Establishing Operations in Connecticut, Creating Hundreds of New Jobs
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that award-winning entertainment production group ITV America – the largest independent producer of non-scripted entertainment content in the United States – will be relocating a significant portion of its business operations to Stamford. Additionally, newly launched Wheelhouse Entertainment – founded by entrepreneur and media magnate Brent Montgomery – also will be using Stamford as one of its bases of operations. Combined, the two entertainment companies plan to create approximately 450 jobs in Stamford across areas of finance and operations, production, and post-production, and more.
