How To Apply
Apply online using the Connecticut Office of the Arts (COA) e-granting portal.- New Applicants: Create an account
- The system will ask you to enter the name of your organization as part of it's default settings, for artists please enter "not applicable" and bypass setting up organizational information.
- Returning Applicants Log into your existing account. If you forgot your password then select "Reset Password"
- As a returning applicant you may open up into your "My applications" window when you log in. To begin a new application select "Programs" in the top right corner.

We ask the following questions about you and your project:
Social Issue & Artistic Merit
- Applicant Name
- Select the primary social issue your community-based project will address? - view list here
- WHY is this social issue of interest to you and how will you use your work as an artist to address it? (up to 300 word count)
Project Details
- Title of Project (up to 15 word count)
- What are you Proposing? Provide a brief description of your project. (up to 200 word count)
- Where will your project take place? List CT town(s) and specific locations (if known) and any other location details.(up to 50 word count)
- When will it occur it occur? Your overall project may begin before or end after the designated funding period, but COA grant funds can ONLY be used during the grant funding period. Enter your project start and end dates based on when COA funds will be used to support the project.
- Who is involved in your project? Identify other artists and project partners and indicate their role and why they were selected. (up to 200 word count)
- Budget: $3,000 to support artist fees and project expenses. Indicate how the grant will be used. Note: please be aware that this grant may be considered taxable income.
- Expand further on how the COA funds will be used, if needed. (up to 50 word count)
Community & Audience
- Who is your community and audience and why did you choose them? (up to 200 word count)
- Why do you believe your project will be of interest to your community and audience? (up to 200 word count)
- How do you plan to inform your community and audience about your project? - engagement, outreach, marketing communications (up to 200 word count)

Artistic Excellence - Work Samples
- Indicate the Artistic Disciplines that best define your work as an artist.
- Dance, Music, Theater, Visual Arts, Multidisciplinary, Performance, Literature, Teaching Artist, Cultural Heritage, Digital Media, Other (up to 4 word count)

- Applicants may provide Professional Social Media sites (optional)
- Work Samples: Include past work samples and/or work samples that provide a sense of the project you are proposing. Applicants may provide any combination of links and uploads with a maximum of 3 links and 5 image/document files. Please note, reviewers will not review beyond 10 minutes of work samples per application. You may share a brief description of the work samples you have included (up to 200 word count).
