Where are minors allowed in businesses with liquor permits? (Restaurants, package stores, etc.)

Minors are allowed in businesses with liquor permits, but their movements may be restrictedFor employment of minors, please see our Age of Employees page.

Grocery Stores:  Minors are allowed inside grocery stores unaccompanied by an adult. 

 

Package Stores: Minors are only allowed inside a package store to purchase non-alcoholic items or if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.  

 

Restaurants and cafes: Minors are allowed inside restaurants and cafes only to consume food prepared on that permit premises. 

  • Minors are never allowed to stand or sit at a bar, unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

  • If the barroom is separate from the dining room, no minors are allowed in the barroom unless accompanied by parent or legal guardian.
     

Manufacturing premises (e.g., breweries, wineries, distilleries): Minors are allowed inside restaurants only to consume food prepared on that permit premises.

  • Minors are never allowed to stand or sit at a bar, unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. 

  • If the barroom is separate from the dining room, no minors are allowed in the barroom unless accompanied by parent or legal guardian.
