To prevent unwanted telephone calls, sign up for the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Do Not Call Registry.

Option 1: Register online by visiting the National Do Not Call Registry and sign up your house or mobile phone number.

Option 2: Register over-the-phone by calling the toll-free number (1-888-382-1222) from the number you want to register.

What to know:

  • Registration is free and does not expire
  • Once you've been registered for 31 days, you will be protected from legitimate telemarketers.
  • Your number will be registered until your phone service is disconnected or until you request the number to be removed from the registry.
  • Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations prohibit the telemarketers from using automated dialers to call cellphone numbers without prior consent.
  • The Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) enforces the Do Not Call law. Learn how to file a "do not call" complaint with our agency.
