To prevent unwanted telephone calls, sign up for the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Do Not Call Registry.
Option 1: Register online by visiting the National Do Not Call Registry and sign up your house or mobile phone number.
Option 2: Register over-the-phone by calling the toll-free number (1-888-382-1222) from the number you want to register.
What to know:
- Registration is free and does not expire
- Once you've been registered for 31 days, you will be protected from legitimate telemarketers.
- Your number will be registered until your phone service is disconnected or until you request the number to be removed from the registry.
- The Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) enforces the Do Not Call law for CT residents, and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) may bring actions under similar federal laws. Learn how to file a complaint with DCP.
