2. Please use this eLearning link to the required school training. You can access the lesson that fulfills school employees' required legislative training.
This curriculum helps school employees better understand child exploitation and trafficking. It includes:
- Federal and State legislation on human trafficking
- Prevalence of child trafficking in the U.S. and Connecticut
- Two main trafficking types will be discussed in detail: 1) labor trafficking and 2) sex trafficking
- Pathways to victimization, including what makes a child vulnerable
- Who are the perpetrators
- Impact to the victims
- Red flags for both labor and sex trafficking
- Educators will learn how they can intervene if they believe a child may be a victim of exploitation or trafficking
- Prevention strategies will be shared that can be implemented in schools and in the community
The training is 2 hours and uses videos and PowerPoint.
