1. Notice of Scoping for Oxford Road Infrastructure Project
Municipality where proposed project might be located: Town of Oxford
Address of the possible project location: Northern sector of the Town in proximity to I-84 and Waterbury-Oxford Airport
Project Description: The Town of Oxford is planning several road and related infrastructure projects to enhance the Town’s attractiveness for economic development. The road improvements would provide improved access and upgrades for truck and commercial traffic to and from commercial and industrially zoned land. The infrastructure projects are targeted to the northern sector of the Town in proximity to I-84 and Waterbury-Oxford Airport. The road improvements will also facilitate the removal of commercial traffic from other, more rural parts of the Town. The Town has and plans to pursue state and federal funding for these infrastructure projects. Specifically, the Town plans to build a new road, E Commerce Drive, which will connect with Juliano Drive and Riggs Street. An extension of Commerce Drive to Jacks Hill Road is planned. Various levels of upgrades are also planned for Riggs Street, Jacks Hill Road, Hawley Road and Christian Street. Select water and sewer line improvements in proximity to these proposed road improvements are also planned.
