The Connecticut Emergency Service Ribbon
Section 27-73a of the Connecticut General Statutes authorizes the The Adjutant General to issue the Emergency Service Ribbon at his discretion to all members of the armed forces of the state ordered to active duty for the purpose of upholding the law, protecting lives and property, assisting civil authorities, or aiding the relief of civilians during a disaster.
The Emergency Service Ribbon has been awarded 35 times since its inception in 1955.  Eleven of those instances has been since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
