Social Services Block Grant (SSBG) Allocation Plan – Federal Fiscal Year 2021
The Social Services Block Grant is administered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services through its administrative agency, the Administration for Children and Families, Office of Community Services. The Connecticut Department of Social Services is designated as the principal state agency for the allocation and administration of the Block Grant within the State of Connecticut. The block grant legislation gives the state significant discretion in providing a wide range of services. Please follow this link for copy of the Proposed FFY 2021 SSBG Allocation Plan. The committees of cognizance for the SSBG have scheduled an Informational Forum on Monday, September 21, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. regarding the SSBG allocation plan. Members of the public are encouraged to submit written comments. Comments should be emailed to the Committees in Word or PDF format as follows: Social Services: APPtestimony@cga.ct.gov and HStestimony@cga.ct.gov. Immediately following the informational forum, committee meetings will be held in accordance with CSG 4-28b to take action on the allocation plan. The committee meetings will be conducted via Zoom.
